MondayActivity One:
Climbing Postion various climbing toys around the room. Allow the children to climb on top of and under the toys as they please. As the child attempts to inch forward, gently allow the child to push with his/her feet against your hands or a rolled up towel. Support the child's hand while inching forward each time. TuesdayActivity One:
Puppet Play Locate a hand or finger puppet. Sit across from the child. Sing a song pretending the puppet is singing to the child. Observe the child's reaction. (PP) (CLL,16,21) Activity Two: Peek-A-Boo Begin placing a photo of the child face down. Ask, "Where is ________?" Turn the picture over and say "Peek-a-boo, here is _________!"(PP) (CLL,16) |
WednesdayActivity One:
Animal Sounds Using the rhythm from the book "Brown Bear, Brown, Bear" by Eric Carle sing the child's name and then say what do you hear? I hear a duck quacking in my ear. For example " Max, Max, what do you hear?! I hear a cow mooing in my ear!" (PP) (CLL,21) Activity Two: Box Spaces Give the child his/her own special space by providing several large boxes with open ends. ThursdayActivity One:
Texture Book Gather different textures of any kind. Examples:Cotton balls,Tin foil,Bubble wrap,fabric swatches,silk, wool,etc. Place each texture on a page for the child and let them feel it.Name the texture as the child feels each one. (CA,37) (CD,22,24) Activity Two: Rhyme Time Take a wooden spoon, a drum, or a container turned upside down. Beat the rhythm while reciting: "BAA BAA,BLACK SHEEP HAVE YOU ANY WOOL? YES,SIR,YES, SIR, THREE BAGS FULL; ONE FOR THE MASTER,ONE FOR THE DAME,AND ONE FOR THE LITTLE BOY WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE." (PP) (CLL,21) |
FridayActivity One:
Rolling Toys Take out toys that roll. Examples: a rattle, assorted balls,etc. Place the child on the floor. Roll a toy toward the child. Encourage them to push it back in your direction.
