MondayActivity One:
Peek-a-boo fruit- Place child in a high chair.Place certain fruits under a bowl and have them lift the bowl up and say "Oh what you found? oh its an apple"(NTF) (CD,22,23,28) Activity Two: First Finger Painting Place child in a child-safe chair.Tape down white construction paper to the table in front of the child.Puree sweet potatoes. (You can use any vegetable or fruit puree or even yogurt) Place a spoonful of the puree on the paper and let the baby explore it. TuesdayActivity One:
On and Off Help the child try turning on a light or ceiling fan, using a light or fan switch. Say "On" when the light goes on and "Off" when the light goes off. (PP) (CLL,16) (CD,22) Activity Two: Sparkle Bottle Fill a 1.25 liter bottle with a little bit of water and sparkle sequins, colorful beads, foam shapes and other colorful objects. WednesdayActivity One:
Flashlight Dance Hold or sit with your baby on your lap and turn the lights off. Shine the flashlight beam slowly over the walls and ceiling. Encourage the baby to follow the moving light with their eyes. You can create a relaxing environment as well by putting quiet soothing music on in the background or even talking to the baby softly and reading them a story.(BC) (CLL,16,21)(PDH,15)(CA,39) Activity Two: Paper Sounds Save used wrappings and tissue paper from gifts. ThursdayActivity One:
Balancing to walk Put a child safe mirror on a wall in the room. (about 48' by 30') Attach a smooth hard maple rod to the mirror. The rod needs to be 17' from the floor. This allows the child to able to pull up and move sideways, hand over hand, foot over foot, without the help of an adult. (PP) (AL,3) (PDH,13) Activity Two: Nursery Rhymes Sit in a chair. Cross your legs and put the child on your foot. Hold your child's two hands.Move your foot up and down and recite different nursery rhymes.(PP) (CLL,21) (PDH,15) |
FridayActivity One:
Switching it Place the infant on your lap and hold a toy out in front. Once the infant has grasped the toy with one hand, hold another toy out in front, offering it to the infant. Sometimes infants will drop the toy, but eventually will learn to switch the toy to the other hand in order to hold both toys at the same time.(PP) (CD,22, 25) Activity Two: Sidewalk Painting Locate a smal brush with a handle. Weather permitting, take the child out to the side walk or in the garage. Put the brush in a small bucket of water. Show the child how to "paint" the sidewalk or garage floor. (PP) (CA,37) |
