SENSORYIce Buckets
Place several plastic bowls and cups in front of the toddler. Put one ice cube in each bowl and cup and give the toddlers spoons. The toddler well then be able to dump out, put back in, taste or play with the ice cubes and bowls/cups.(PB) (CLL,22,29) Soapy Jars Fill up old peanut butter jars half way with water, add a few drops of food coloring and squirt of dish soap. Let them shake it, spin it, whatever they please. (HG)(CD,22) Squishy Gel Bags Squeeze a bottle of hair gel into a zip lock bag. Add glitter and letter beads, or whatever you would like to put in there. Add food coloring.Tape the bag shut with duck tape to make sure they don''t explode. Let the toddler explore and feel.(CC)(CD,22) Salt Box Place a layer of salt in a shallow plastic bin. Toddler will be able to touch and move the salt around. The taste of the salt will deter most toddlers from trying to eat it. (PB) (CD,22) Ocean Sensory Bin Put the following items into a bin: Aquarium rocks Aquarium plants SeaShells Plastic colored rocks Ocean animal toys put water into the bin. Bowling For Letters Set up some magnetic letters on a floor without carpet. Locate a small rubber ball and have the toddler have fun knocking over the letters.As the ball hits a letter, name it. (PB)(CD,22,27,28) (PDH,13) Sticky Feet Tape a piece of contact paper,sticky side up, on the floor. Have the children run,jump,hop or even just standing on the sticky paper.(FE) (CD,22) (PDH,13) OUTSIDE Follow the Footprints Print out footprints and make a trail outside. Creative ExpressionBubble Wrap Painting
Tape squares of bubble wrap onto a table. Allow the children to finger paint on top of the bubble wrap.
